Ngoni


Ngoni, also: Angoni - a group of African tribes of the Bantu group, a tribe of Nguni, inhabiting Malawi and part of the territory of Zambia, Mozambique and Tanzania. In 1983 their number was about 1 million. people. Their traditional activities include pastoralism and agriculture.

To their present headquarters, Ngoni migrated in the nineteenth century from the south, displaced by other tribes from those areas. They took over the languages ​​of the neighboring Bantu tribes, but they retained their own cultural identity. Bibliography
