Tandawa
Tandava - one of the types of Hindu dance attributed to Shiva.
Division In practice Ananda marga yoga is a very energetic dance, dating back to the times of Shiva and cosmic dancer Nataradza. The name "tandawa" derives from the Tamil word "tandu", which means "to jump." This exercise should only be performed by men, because it causes the release of testosterone. It is done to strengthen the body and get rid of all fears, even fear of death - so this dance also has its ideals. The dancer starts with his arms outstretched. The left hand is open, the right clenched into a fist. He imagines that in his left hand he holds a serpent - a symbol of death, and a knife in the right - a symbol of a fight with fear. The dance starts with a vigorous jumping and landing with knees bent. There are further jumps in which the left and right leg are alternately raised. The dance ends with a high jumping.
