Coat of Arms - depicts a silver Jagiellonian cross in a blue field and two silver rings placed between the shoulders of a cross. History

In the 13th century, the city's coat of arms depicted the Madonna with the Child on the throne, while in the days of Casimir the Great he displayed the coronation of the Madonna. Władysław Jagiełło added under the coronation scene a shield with a Jagiellonian cross. This version of the coat of arms was in use for the next four hundred years. The 18th century reduced the elements of the coat of arms to the same shield with the Wsch cross. In the 19th century, the Wschowa coat of arms depicted a Prussian eagle with a FR monogram on its chest, holding a scepter in one leg, and a shield on the other with a Wsch cross. At the end of the 19th century, the medieval imagery of the Coat of Arms with the Madonna Coronation Scene and heraldic shield was returned. Reform

On February 28, 1997 the City Council and the Commune of Wschowa adopted a resolution to change the color of the shield of the city coat of arms. Referring to Adamczewski's latest scientific research, it changed from red to blue.
