DV - Das Deutsch-Verzeichnis - a complete list of Franz Schubert's works arranged chronologically.

Only a part of Schubert's works was published in his lifetime with the opus numbering. Musicologists needed a complete catalog for their research. Such a catalog was made by German musicologist Otto Erich Deutsch. His catalog entitled Franz Schubert - Thematic Catalog of all his works in chronological order (Franz Schubert - Thematic catalog of all his works in chronological order) was first published in English in 1951.

The numbers of Schubert's works in this catalog are at the beginning of the letter D. So D795 is also known as Op. 25, a cycle of songs The beautiful mill (Die schöne Müllerin).
