Envelope generator

Envelope Generator (EG, ENV, Envelope Generator) - A synthesizer block or other electronic musical instrument responsible for producing a sound envelope.

The envelope generator, in addition to shaping the amplitude over time, can also control other instrument modules, such as a filter. In some cases, this device is equipped with a trigger output (producing a short trigger pulse) which allows for additional effects.
