Fungus (cemetery)
Cemetery with stone circles in Grzybnica - archaeological site located about 3 km north of the village of Grzybnica, near Koszalin, dating from the I-III century n.e. In the forested area, there are stone circles and curses. Discovered by archaeologists, the objects from the grave equipment belong to the culture of the Wielbark.
HistoryArchaeological excavations began in 1974 by Ryszard Wołągiewicz. During the study, 5 stone circles, 2 mounds and more than 40 cobblestones and flat graves were located. The two largest circles have a diameter of 40 m and are among the largest in Europe, two smaller by 13 m, and the smallest by 8 m. In the middle of the circles are placed single stone boulders. Circles were built of erratic boulders that were treated. All the boulders in the circles were surrounded by small stones. In all circles, the remains of rituals and ceremonial ceremonies related to the burning and burial of ashes were found. In the countryside there are triangular pavements; There are analogues only in southern Norway and western Sweden.
