Military Synagogue in Poltava
Military Synagogue in Poltava - a Jewish synagogue located in Poltava at ul. Kuibishev.
It dates from the sixties of the nineteenth century. It was built in the style of late classicism, covered with a dome, on a rectangular plan. It is a one-story building.
The name of the synagogue comes from the fact that at ul. Kujbyshev (formerly tsarist-post-Soviet) lived former soldiers of the Russian army of Jewish origin, who attended the synagogue.
The synagogue was closed by the Soviet authorities in the 1930s, transforming it into a warehouse. The reconstruction of the building was then made, increasing it by one floor for a residential building. Bibliography
