The adventure with the aquarist started in childhood. At the end of World War I he went to the United States. There he continued his interest and took care of the breeding of guppies. It was the first in the world to start the planned selection of these fish (inbred). After a few years of work he obtained specimens of unprecedented shapes and colors. This strain was named after his name: "Hähnela guppies". At that time, the first clubs of breeders were established and the first international competitions were organized. As a breeder he won many awards and distinctions. He won 12 gold medals at "peacock eyes". Bibliography
