Skills - this is in addition to the numerical value factors in role-playing games that describe the player's character. Skill determines how advanced the character is. The greater the value of a given skill, the easier it is to perform the test form associated with it. Skills are essentially about areas that can be learned; In addition, it's usually easier to get them (or raise them) than coefficients.
Skills are usually expressed by numerical value (the bigger the better), although there are some exceptions. For example, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay, the skill does not have a numerical value, and whether the action is successful (depending on whether we have the skill) (for example, trying to swim in a river without swimming skills will probably drown us). In FUDGE, skills are defined in words.
Depending on the system, the skill list is different, depending on the technology in the game world. In fantasy systems where the world is similar to the Middle Ages, there is no such thing as driving a car - for example, magic skills or reflecting the development of white-collar combat mechanics. The most common way to develop skills is to buy points that are expressed in exchange for experience points (sometimes indirectly - the player can develop skills in a certain way while advancing to the next level). This would lead, for example, to the situation where the character of the experience gained for saving the princess "learns to fish (although she never did before), so the master of the game usually has the right to block the development of unused skills.
The second most popular method is to develop skills with the use of it. This, however, requires careful scrutiny of the use of each one, which in practice limits the use of this method solely to computer games.
