Józef Mielżyński (1824-1900)
Józef Mielżyński (born 1824, died 12 August 1900 in Poznan) - Polish social activist, landowner.
He was the son of Maciej and Konstancja from Pawłowice. He inherited his father's estate in Wielkopolska, where he became famous as a good host. From 1863 he sat in the Prussian House of Lords. Shortly before his death (1900) he was elected president of the Society for Scientific Research. He was one of the founders of the museum at the Poznań Society of Friends of Science.
Married with Emily from Bieniny.
The Pope awarded the Cross of the Order of St. Gregory.
He died in Poznan, buried in Iwna.
