Abraham z Harranu

Abraham of Harran (born about 350 in Syria, about 420 in Constantinople) - holy Syrian, Syrian eremite, bishop.

Very early on he began to lead a hermit life in the Chalkis desert. Having made miraculous healing, he began to share in the faith of one of the valleys of the Lebanese Mountains near Emesa. He returned to life in the eremand and then against his will he was elected bishop of Harran. He fought against the unorthodoxity and the violation of church law. The bishop's lifestyle led to the recognition of the faithful, and the news reached the imperial court, prompting admiration there. He died in Constantinople around 420, to which he went on the call of Theodosius II.

His memory is celebrated on February 14th. Bibliography
