Hałbów
Hałbów in the municipality Nowy Żmigród Cemetery with graves of the victims of the German terror, in the forest near the road to Krempna, near the bus stop HKS Hałbów (between Kąty and Krempna), south of Nowy Zmigrod near the pass.
In July 1942, the Nazis murdered about 1260 Poles, mostly of Jewish origin from Nowy Zmigrod and brought from Lodz. About this tragic event informs the plaque on the monument at the crime scene.
In the summer of 1942, a part of the Jews from Nowy Zmigród were murdered on the spot, about 500 were taken to the Płaszów labor camp, some were shot in the forest near Hałbow in the local Jewish cemetery, and the others were deported to the death camp in Bełżec. Three days later, the Germans shot the majority of Jews from the ghetto in Jodłow. Bibliography
