Miroslav Verner (2013)

Miroslav Verner (born 31 October 1941 in Brno) is a Czech archeologist and Egyptologist. He specializes in the issues of the Old Kingdom, especially the IV and V Dynasty. For seventeen years he was the director of the Czech Institute of Egyptology. He has been leading the archaeological work of the Czech Mission in Abusir since 1976. He is associated with the University of Vienna, the University of Hamburg and the University of Prague and the American University in Cairo.
