Night Watch (military unit)
Night Watch - a unit of the Great Guards of the Mongolian Guard.
RiseThe date of its creation is unknown. The Secret History of the Mongols appears only in 1204. It is usually mentioned next to the Daily Guard, which can be identified more confidently, it was the moment of announcing Temudin Genghis Khan (and therefore probably 1182 years). It can be assumed that both units were created simultaneously. Expansion on the Great Kurichtaju
By 1206 the Night Watch had 80 people. During the Great Kuricheh was enlarged to 1000 people, and its commander was Jeke Ne'ürin. The 80 members of the Guard, who served in it before Kuruttaj, carried the name: Old Guard of the Night. There were also detailed rules for taking over and serving duty by the guard. The Night Watch was supposed to cover the watch before sunset and take it to the Day Watch only after its sunrise. In addition, there was a ban on dissemination of information about the number of Night Watchers. Works
During the Great Kuriche there are also the tasks of the Night Guard. In addition to guarding the Khan and his camp at night, they were supervising the palace service, supervising the firearms, maintaining it, supervising the preparation of meals, guarding and arranging the palace yacht, guarding the horses, helping with the interrogation. Unlike the rest of the guards, the Night Watch never took part in war expeditions in which the Great Khan did not personally participate. Bibliography
