Nikolai Piatnicki


Nikolai Vladimirovich Piatnicki, Russian Николай Владимирович Пятницкий (born 1890, 19 November 1963 in Paris) is a Russian military colonel and emigre publicist and political activist who cooperated with Germany during the Second World War.

He participated in the First World War. From the end of 1918, he was chief of Staff of 34th Infantry Division of Gen. Anthony I. Denikin. In the autumn of 1919 he became an officer in the Special Forces of the Caucasian Army Gen. Wiktor L. Pokrowski. After losing white troops he went to Paris. He cooperated with General Nikolay N. Gołowin in the organization of higher military-science courses. In the second half was a member of the Russian National Union of Fighters, led by General Anton W. Turkul. In the years 1937-1940 he edited his press body "Сигнал". During World War II he cooperated with Germans. In 1944 he wrote in the occupied Paris "Парижский вестник". At the end of 1944 he came to Berlin, where he began to issue the ROA "За Родину". At the same time he participated in the creation of the Armed Forces of the Committee for the Liberation of the Nations of Russia. After the end of the war he returned to Paris, where he worked in the editorial office of "Возрождение". On November 19, 1963, he committed suicide.
