Richard Vernon

Richard Vernon, 3rd Baron Hodnet (born 22 June 1678, 1 October 1725) is a British diplomat, sir, the last baronet of Hodnet. His father was Sir Thomas Vernon, 2nd Baron Hodnet (1682), and Grandfather Henry Vernon, 1st Baron Hodnet (1605-1676), a royal-bachelor in wartime.

He received a thorough education at Christ College in Oxford. He never married and died unconditionally.

He was a British MP in Poland. In 1718 there was almost a diplomatic conflict between the United Kingdom and Poland and Saxony on the grounds that Vernon did not receive a customary gift in the form of a certain (eg, Sergei Dogoroduk in 1722 received 4,000 thalers) of sums of money, or even Saxon porcelain , very high then appreciated. Vernon was denied this because there were significant grounds for intriguing him against Augustus II. Bibliography
