Congress in Braunschweig (1718)

Congress in Braunschweig - Congress convened by the Emperor Charles VI of Habsburg in 1718 to pacify the North, following the thought of the German Reich. In 1718, the emperor felt strong, defeating the Turks. July was peace in Požarevac, ending the war between Turkey and Austria (6th Austrian-Turkish War) and Venice (VIII Venice-Turkey War). In 1718 the emperor became a member of a strong alliance of four states: France, Holland, Austria and the United Kingdom (Quadruple Alliance), which created James Stanhope. However, even the ally Karol Jerzy I of Hannover was unwilling to participate in this congress. He also convinced the Swedish king Charles XII to do the same. Poland prepared representatives for the congress, but eventually did not send them. Due to the fact that many countries have expressed no interest in the imperial initiative, the congress in Brunswick is often referred to as the "shadowy congress." Bibliography wiki

In terms of formal construction, the Danse macabre is an elaborate roll with two themes in a variant. The composer used the illustrative capabilities of xylophone, in which the dry and hard color of the sound is clearly audible, the clanging of skeletons rotating in the dance. The content of the song is very clear: It is midnight. Deafening voice (violin solo) death spurs the ghosts. The sport, growing in wilder dance, puts an end to cock roasting at dawn (played on the oboe). In the vanishing of death is the promise of the day. wiki
