Emblem of North Yemen

The emblem of North Yemen was in force since 1962, from the founding of the state until 1990, when the state merged with Yemen. The emblem of the contemporary emblem of Yemen differs only by the flag. This contrasts with the modern Yemen flag, with only a green star on the white strip.

However, the emblem of North Yemen depicts an eagle, holding in its claws two crossed country flags and inscription with the name of the country. The bird's chest is covered with a heraldic shield depicting the sea and the coast, which is covered with holly.
