<8943> Stefanozafka - asteroid belt asteroid that circled the Sun in 4 years and 248 days in the mean distance 2.8 AU. She was discovered on January 30, 1997 at the Osservatorio Astrometrico Santa Lucia by Antonio Vagnozzi. The name of the asteroid comes from Stefano Zafka (1972-2007), an alpine guide who participated in two expeditions on K2 and disappeared during the second descent from the summit. Prior to naming, the asteroid was given a temporary designation (8943) 1997 BH3.
