FN Telgren
FN Telgren - Belgian pomegranate cap with shredding action. Produced by FN Herstal since 1987.
It can be fired from 5.56 mm, 7.62 mm wz. 43 and 7.62 mm NATO. Depending on the cartridge, it can be thrown at a distance of 300-400 m.
Granite Telgren has a telescopic construction and consists of a head and a stabilizer. The explosive charge and excitation cap are located in the head portion along which the passage for the shotgun is made. Inside the stabilizer stem is attached a frame-shaped eye, which in the folded grenade is hidden in the space between the stabilizer shaft and the inner surface of the head. Pulling out the pomegranate causes the sight to open at the same time. Inside the pomegranate is a canal with a diaphragm. After the shot, the missile pierces the diaphragm, the ballistic cap and flies out. The powder gases collected by the diaphragm accelerate the grenade to a speed of 65-80 m / s. At the first 8-10 m of the flight path, the two parts of the grenade are retracted and the fuse is armed. Bibliography
